1967 Original Cuban MOCKUP for th Movie poster TULIPA.This is a Unique Art Piece
The mockup or boceto is painted on artistic board and provides the original artwork for the Cuban movie poster Tulipa.
A unique piece of poster history.
Mockup measures 7x10 inches.
The reverse has the color instructions for the printmaker. In this case 6 color were used. It was also signed by O'Reilly in 1967.
Notice that the artist used some cutout name in the place where the printmaker would choose any font that he liked. Some artists, like Muñoz Bachs, would make the fonts as a part of his art(drawing unique adorned fonts) so printmakers couldn't choose for him.(like in this case)
THE SECOND PICTURE IS TAKEN FROM THE INTERNET to show the viewer how the final poster looked like. In some cases I have the image in my website but others I have to rely on the web.
No poster is included in this lot, just the original painting.
I WILL SEND YOU A CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY WITH EACH POSTER
This original poster belongs to a collection that was started by my husband’s grandmother in 1973 and it was brought by us to the Unites States from 1998 to 2012 in small batches, due to Cuban and U.S government restrictions on importing or exporting art from the island. Each batch was processed by the Cuban government entity Registro Nacional de Bienes Culturales de la República de Cuba that dates from 1998 to 2012 under my name and my husband’s name as permits to take the posters to the United States. I have links in my webpage with pictures of many of the receipts as proof of provenance. During more than 20 years I befriended many of the artists and collectors, read every book and article I could have my hands on and acquired the knowledge to stand by the authenticity of my collection. I will send you a Certificate of Authenticity issued by my art gallery Art of Cuba and signed by me. It will include the Title of the poster,Year printed and the artist’s name with the image of the actual poster.
